TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3 ~ 9:30-11:00 AM ~ MEETING HOUSE
| |
Kundalini Yoga will be offered in the Meeting House next Tuesday, October 3, beginning at 9:30 and ending at 11:00. Class ends with the healing vibrations to the gong.
Next week's class will be focused on Elevation. We will be building the magnetic field and your personal aura. The gong's vibrations help one to go into a deep place of meditation and relaxation to release worry and stress.
Please do not eat or drink an hour before class. Bring a yoga mat. Hope to see you. Susan Cain.

MYSTICISM: WHERE SCIENCE, ART, AND SPIRITUALITY MEET
THURSDAYS 7:00−9:00 PM
| |
Bart Stuck (applied mathematician and physicist) and Marjorie Partch (Jungian astrologer) lead these weekly discussions, which follow readings and lectures on ancient concepts and cutting-edge theories, presenting fresh alternatives to the apparent dichotomy that:
| |
- Mainstream religion is an increasingly irrelevant part of daily life, with growing numbers citing their religious affiliation as NONE; materialism is ascendant everywhere;
- While Western science, after 500 years, finds it has been studying 5% of the Universe.
These stand-alone modular class units (AlephTalks.com/Syllabus) explore the wonder of the hidden unity and order of the world around us — the Uni-verse. Sources include The Tao of Physics, and correspondence between psychoanalyst C.G. Jung and physicist Wolfgang Pauli: Atom and Archetype.

BEARDSLEY SCHOOL NEEDS YOUR HELP
We could use your help! Our fall Read Aloud Day is on October 12 and we need volunteers to read in the classrooms. October is Hispanic Heritage month, so our books will reflect that theme. Come for coffee, read to a class, and experience the joy of meeting Beardsely’s children.
Please email Anita Pfluger to sign up.

BOARD CHOOSES 3 PRIORITY ENDS FOR '23-24; WELCOMES IDEAS
The Board of Trustees met on Tuesday night, September 19. At that time, they discussed the ends that would guide our congregations' work this year. UU Westporters will recall the Policy Manual shares ends (basically, strategic goals) that guide our congregation’s work each year, and the Board chooses a few of them to be the priorities for each year.
The priority ends this year are the following 1.1.2; 1.2.1 and 1.4.2. To read them in full, click HERE.
New business? Feedback? As always, the Board welcomes all congregants to share what's on their minds, and if there is new business they'd like the Board to consider, it welcomes that information too. Contact them at board@uuwestport.org, or reach out to any individual Board member, anytime.

UU WESTPORT COMMUNITY EMAIL BUILDS CONNECTIONS
Not on social media but want to stay virtually connected with UU Westport friends? Join our social email group, TUUCWSocial@groups.io. This is an informal message-sharing service by and for congregants: a virtual community bulletin board. It is used for unofficial TUUCW topics of interest. Reflect on a sermon; comment on an article; sell a car; find a contractor; announce a concert coming near you: it's all great!
Emails can be pushed out to you as they come in; or in batches, or get none pushed out to you at all - simply go to the website when you feel like checking out what's been being posted. Ground rules are HERE.
