First introduced at the 1977 Geneva Motor Show, the Porsche 928 was designed to replace the iconic 911, and was built to have the best qualities of both a sports car and a luxury grand tourer. A new 4.5 liter V8 making 240 hp was placed in a front configuration, and a slick, well-appointed cabin provided the comfort needed to cover miles of open road.

To address any concerns for the tricky handling of the then 911, Porsche engineers developed the Weissach Axle for the 928. Regarded as one of the earliest rear-wheel steering systems, it consists of an additional lateral link on the inner side of the setup's semi-trailing wishbone arm. This allowed the rear axle to passively induce toe-in when lifting the throttle instead of toe-out. While the 911 was a handful that would send you spinning if you lifted mid-corner, the 928 is the complete opposite. This, along with the 928's 50/50 weight distribution and hydraulic-assisted rack-and-pinion steering lends the car a naturally balanced, confident, and planted feel.

This 928 is finished in iconic 80's monochromatic colors: Ruby Red Metallic (Rubinrotmetallic) exterior and Burgundy Leather interior. The paint on the car is mostly original, with the exception of the rear quarter panels, rear bumper and a few small areas which were professionally refinished. The car is well optioned with the desirable 5-Speed manual transmission, Limited Slip Differential, power seats, pressure cast 16 in. alloy wheels, retractable halogen headlights with washers, automatic climate control, tinted glass, cruise control, and more. the 928's gauge cluster and the steering column move in tandem as one unit when the power-adjustable column is repositioned – a first of its kind.

Regarded as Wolfgang Möbius' masterpiece, this 928 is in excellent, well sorted and properly maintained condition: exterior, interior, mechanical and underbody. A large binder is included detailing the service history of the vehicle, as well as the refreshment or replacement of all pieces and components. The wheels may look like they are chromed, but they are polished aluminum alloy. The cam belts have been done. The catalytic converters and air pump have been removed, but are included with the sale of the car - as are the tools, original sales invoice, and extensive service records.

With its iconic 80's color scheme, powerful V8 engine, manual transmission, well-appointed interior and well-kept history, , this 928S makes the ideal classic candidate for comfortable and spirited touring.
