The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences welcomed the MD Program Class of 2028 during the 26th Annual White Coat and Honor Code Ceremony at Lisner Auditorium on Sept. 7. Christina Prather, MD, associate professor of medicine, director of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, and co-director of the Memory Evaluation and Treatment Clinic, presented this year’s keynote address to the incoming class.

Cancer Researcher Norman Lee, PhD, Selected to Serve as New IBS Director

On Aug. 1, Norman Lee, PhD, professor of pharmacology and physiology, began serving as the new director of the Integrated Biomedical Sciences (IBS) PhD Program, providing leadership and oversight for GW’s five PhD programs — cancer biology, genomics and bioinformatics, microbiology and immunology, neuroscience, and pharmacology and physiology.

CPHHE Announces Inaugural Population Health and Health Services Scholars

The inaugural seven-member group of junior and mid-career faculty members will explore cancer prevention and treatment, behavioral health, telehealth and digital health, pregnancy-related care, and food as medicine, prioritizing those served by the GW Medical Faculty Associates who are also District residents living in the primary service area for the Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center-GW Health.
