Following a comprehensive, 20-month self-study and a three-day site visit, the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences Doctor of Medicine degree program received a full, eight-year accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) on July 2, 2024.

Robert H. Miller, PhD, Named Interim Vice Provost for Research, Retains SMHS Roles

Robert H. Miller, PhD, has been named interim vice provost for research, effective Aug. 1, as the office’s current leader, Pamela M. Norris, announced she plans to step down from the position. Miller, who will retain his positions as Vivian Gill Distinguished Research Professor and vice dean at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, previously served as the university’s vice president for research from 2018–20.
