‘Joy and Privilege of Medicine’

Members of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences MD Class of 20234 celebrated Match Day on March 15, learning where they would train in their medical specialties. Students matched in specialties at leading residency programs across the country in programs in from Maine Medical Center in Portland and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston to University of Miami Jackson Health System in Miami .

“When we have a patient who has just had a major surgery to treat their cancer, we make a decision about adjuvant chemotherapy in the context of stage — stage 1, 2, 3, or 4. What I learned from [the announcement] is that she's getting preventive chemotherapy or adjuvant chemotherapy with the goal of cure.”
