NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 15th

The Negotiating Committee met with management this week to discuss our economic and non-economic proposals from two weeks ago. Those proposals outlined a mechanism to attract new employees and retain current ones. Management’s response to our economic proposals was status quo, remain non-competitive with the surrounding hospitals and continue dangerous staffing levels.

They also provided us with new proposals that would have a devastating effect on vacation, sick, and personal time. Management is not only looking to reduce accrued time, but also cap your benefit time as a measure of cost savings. Our committee strenuously rejected these proposals.

The theme to management's proposals seems to seek givebacks as opposed to encourage employees. Even after the dedication and commitment you all have provided especially during the pandemic, this is management's way to say thank you.

We have another negotiating session scheduled for next week and we will continue to keep you updated as to the progress of bargaining.

WE WILL SCHEDULE A MEMBERSHIP MEETING TO PROVIDE THE BARGAINING UNIT WITH AN UPDATE.

CONTINUE TO STAY INFORMED AND REMAIN ENGAGED!
