2024 Spring and Summer Musical
Auditions Scheduled
THIS SATURDAY!
Shreveport Little Theatre director Laura Beeman Nugent and musical director Adam Philley are proud to announce audition dates for its 2024 Spring and Summer Musical, Escape to Margaritaville (April) and Beautiful the Musical (July), respectively.
Escape to Margaritaville, an SLT MainStage production, will open for performances on April 19,, 2024, and run through April 28,, 2024.
Beautiful the Musical, SLT's 2024 Summer Musical, will open for performances on July 19, 2024, and run for two consecutive weekends.
Auditions will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. beginning with a dance audition. Vocal auditions will follow, once dance auditions are complete. Callbacks for both shows will take place December 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. Both auditions and callbacks will take place at SLT. Actors will be asked to indicate what show(s) they are auditioning for at auditions.
Those wishing to audition should prepare 16-32 bars of a song similar to the style of music in the show. Sheet music is required for vocal audition. A pianist will be provided. All roles are open in both shows. Headshots and resumes are suggested. Those wishing to audition must be 18 years old or older.
Please note – For Tully, leading male in Escape to Margaritaville, we are looking for male presenting age 30 – 39, basic guitar skills helpful. For Carole, leading female in Beautiful, we are looking for female presenting to play an age range 16-30 basic piano skills helpful.
Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville is a musical comedy featuring the most-loved Jimmy Buffett classics, including “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “Margaritaville,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” “Fins,” “Volcano,” and many more. All roles open. Rehearsals begin February 26, 2024.
