Math Students Earn Recognition


Congratulations to the following students who competed in North America's prestigious math competition, MathCon, and scored in the top 10% for their grade. And a special congratulations to 11th grader Yubo Zhang for scoring in the top 5% and qualifying for the finals in Chicago in May!

Celebrating Robert Frost

Chef Bystrzycki's Professional Pastry and Baking class did a great job with Cupcake Wars last week.

Our guests from Kaijo Gakuen, an all-boys school in Tokyo, Japan, shared parts of their culture with the SJA Community Tuesday afternoon. Photos from the event can be viewed here.

Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered last week during the blood drive.

Mr. Reed's students were busy with a couple of projects last week, including demonstrating the properties of the ground state and excited state of metal ions using the flame test (shown here) and creating yellow brass alloy on the surface of metal objects using copper electroplating, zinc deposition and melding with heat.  

The students took on the faculty in an end-of-the-year bowling match last week. Photos from the event can be viewed here.
