Dear Parents, 

As the school year draws to a close, the time has flown by and it is hard to believe that yet another school year has passed. Strelitz International Academy continues to build a strong foundation for our students to grow and develop as future leaders of our local and global community.   On behalf of our faculty, staff, and administration, we thank you for your partnership.

Please join us on Friday, June 2, 2023 for our Final Early Years Shabbat Sing-a-long at 9:00am in the Pavilion (weather permitting) followed by our EY4 Surfing Up Ceremony!  I look forward to seeing you all there!

• Wednesday, June 7, 2023 Last Day of School Early Dismissal 12:00pm-EY Fullcare and PY Sundown closing at Noon.  JCC SDO closed.

I look forward to the 2023-2024 school year as we continue to build new strength and vigor into our programs and our reputation.  I also want to take this opportunity to thank the SIA Community for your support and passion, and dedication and continued support as we head into the next school year. Learning Barge

On Thursday, May 24, Primary Years students visited the Learning Barge in Norfolk This was a hands-on field trip where students learned about wetlands, wildlife restoration, sea-level rise, and the Chesapeake Bay blue crab.

Shavuot Mitzvah Fair

On Thursday, May 25, our Primary Years students participated in a Mitzvah Fair to celebrate Shavuot. Shavuot is the holiday on which we celebrate the giving of the Torah . Our students participated in various stations including braiding their own challahs, decorating Tzeddakah change pouches , pin the flame on the Havdallah candle, decorating cupcakes to look like Mt. Sinai , decorating lunch bags for ForKids , building a Torah, creating Mitzvah themed Lego creations and Shabbat Foil art. They even experienced a Brachot tasting station, where they collected a snack and said the proper blessing . It was a great morning! Garden Update

Our garden is blooming! On Tuesday, May 30, EY2 students enjoyed delicious cucumbers from the garden. What a special treat it is to eat what you grow! We have many different vegetables and flowers growing, and we encourage our SIA families to check it out, we really dig it!

Fifth Grade Field Trip

Our graduating fifth graders went on their fifth grade field trip on Wednesday, May 31. The students had a packed day and went to various locations including the beach, Splash House and Motor World. They also participated in a breakout game and bowling! It was the perfect way to end the year!
