Dear Academy Families,

I hope this letter finds you all well and in summer mode appreciating good books, the warm weather and whatever family fun you enjoy during this time of year.

I am already excited to start the 139th Opening Day of school at Staten Island Academy. Do not worry, I am not rushing you all back, I just want to give you enough time to sort through the back-to-school documents.

I am also thrilled to introduce two new Academy employees that will be a fantastic addition to our Academy family.

Erin Boyle will take on the role as Admissions Associate. Erin is no stranger to the Academy, graduating in 2018 and a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. As a student at the Academy, Erin worked closely with the Admissions Office and is now looking to transfer her skills and the love of the Academy into this new position.

Karina Cruz will join our leadership team as the Head of Lower School. Karina is an educator with over two decades of experience in independent schools across New York and New Jersey, as a teacher and administrator. Karina has demonstrated a strong commitment to curriculum development, teacher mentorship and professional development, and building partnerships centered around each student in her care. Originally from Manila, Philippines, Karina obtained a B.A. in Legal Management from De La Salle University and a Master’s degree in Family Life and Child Development from the University of the Philippines. We will be hosting meet and greet sessions throughout the summer, dates TBD.

Please take the time to log-on to our SIA Portal to get started for the 2023-2024 school year. You can find the SIA Portal Login here.
