Ted Daniels Speaks at LISC Retreat


Ted Daniels, SFEPD Founder and President, was honored to serve as a featured speaker at the recent LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) leadership retreat. Michael Pugh, SFEPD Board President, serves as President and CEO for LISC and invited Mr. Daniels to present to his team about establishing a professional and personal legacy. SFEPD and LISC share the key tenant of working to help underserved communities.

SFEPD Online Financial Literacy Certificate Program

Launching August 1 for HBCU Students

New for Fall 2024, SFEPD is pleased to announce an 8-part online financial literacy certificate program based on our Mind Over Money Skills presentations for HBCU students nationwide.


Upon completion of the Mind Over Money Skills Financial Literacy Certificate, users will receive a verified digital badge through our partnership with Credly, an industry leading credentialing organization. These badges enable you to easily share your skills and accomplishments online and include verified metadata detailing the Financial Literacy qualification and the earning process.

The digital badges can be utilized in email signatures, digital resumes, personal websites, and social media platforms, enhancing opportunities in the workforce and beyond.


To earn this credential, users must complete the full 8-module course on key personal finance topics and achieve at least a 70% on the assessments throughout each module.

SFEPD Academy

The third annual SFEPD Academy took place from July 22-26, offering high school students a dynamic virtual experience focused on financial literacy and professional development. Students from 6 states and 14 high schools came together to participate in group challenges that broadened their horizons and boosted their financial knowledge.


SFEPD Academy helps students enhance essential skills such as communication, leadership, team building, professional development, marketing, and more. It was an inspiring week of growth, learning, and collaboration for these young minds!


U.S. Global Wealth


Nearly 22 million people in the U.S.—roughly one in 15 Americans—had wealth upwards of $1 million last year, according to UBS’ 2024 global wealth report. While that’s down from 22.7 million in 2022, the U.S. was still home to 38% of all millionaires in the world. 

SFEPD Presents at Tennessee State-NABA Camp


Tennessee State University, in collaboration with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), Nashville Chapter, recently conducted the Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) for high school students aspiring to study business in college. During the camp, Financial Educator Marcus Creighton presented SFEPD's Mind Over Money Skills Personal Money Management seminar, equipping students with essential financial literacy skills.
