SENEDIA June 2024

From the Chief Executive Officer:

Last year at this time, SENEDIA issued a report on the Economic Impact of the New England Defense Cluster. It included a regional and state-by-state analysis. The New England Defense Cluster is a major economic engine, creating and sustaining high-wage, high-demand jobs and careers. Read the report here.

The major takeaways, which are still valid today:

  • Defense is a major economic engine for New England - representing $119.1 billion dollars in annual economic output.
  • New England's defense contracts are growing at a faster rate than the national average, making the cluster a major contributor to the U.S. Defense industry and regional economy.
  • The New England Defense Cluster positively impacts job creation, income, and output, has a strong multiplier effect and economic linkages with other sectors in the region, and is an important resource to our National Security.
