Quilt Cube III by Sally Joerger, a 2022 Square Foot Fiber Art Pin Up Show winning entry. Sewn with silk organza and cotton.

Sally says, "Quilt Block III takes a tradition and expands it by adding humor and illusion. Rather than combining several blocks into a flat quilted composition, I made them into a 3-D block/cube of six different blocks. Using both cotton fabric and transparent silk organza allows another contrast, a step away from the usual. The sheer organza lends lightness to the work—both by the seeming weightlessness of the object and visually by the light passing through. That translucence allows seeing ‘hidden’ parts of the block while simultaneously exposing how the piece is made."
