Holy Week

For the moment, the church is stark and stripped of embellishments - the crosses, paraments, linens and candles are put away.

All this as we wait, patiently for Easter.

March 28th Maundy Thursday 6:00pm, St. Paul's in Stockbridge

March 29th Good Friday 6:00pm, Grace Chapel, 67 State Rd. GB

March 30th The Great Easter Vigil 8:00pm here at Christ Trinity

March 31st Easter Sunday Celebration here at 10:00am

note: No 8:00 services on Easter.

Our Holy Week services begin with Maundy Thursday,

tomorrow, March 28, at 6:00pm at St. Paul's Church in the center of Stockbridge. Maundy Thursday commemorates the commandment of Christ that his disciples should emulate his loving humility. It's a time to remember Jesus' vision of beloved community, where we are each vulnerable enough to wash each other's feet. Foot-washing is a special, optional feature of the Maundy Thursday service, which also includes Holy Communion, scripture readings and special music. Come join us.

The Good Friday service will be held at Grace Church Chapel on March 29 at 6:00pm. The chapel is at 67 State Road in Great Barrington, right next to The Book Loft.

The Great Vigil of Easter March 30th at 8:00pm

It will be dark at 8:00 on Saturday evening, and we will light a fire in the center of our garden here at Christ Trinity Church. Please come join us at the most important, highest and holiest worship service of the entire Christian year. The Easter Vigil is where Christians wait in the darkness of Good Friday to see and to celebrate the very first moments of Easter. This year, we will have professional actors from our congregation bringing the traditional Easter Vigil stories fully to life. Bishop Doug Fisher will celebrate with us and we will have a baptism. The evening will conclude with a very special coffee hour.

Welcome Spring's Rebirth

Himalayan and Crystal Singing Bowl Bath

with Senta Rafaela

Saturday April 6, 5:30 PM

Join us for a one-hour immersion in the soothing sounds of singing bowls in our beautiful sanctuary. After a brief orientation, enjoy the opportunity for self-guided meditation, prayer or simple rest.

Free will donations are gratefully received.

We are grateful to gather with friends

Spring allows us to catch up with wonderful friends like Marilyn and Nelda. These former Sheffield church leaders (one from Old Parish and one from Christ Trinity) are more progressive in their thinking than one might give them credit for. We are reminded that the wisdom and spirit of our elders is something to be cherished.

Spring's Rebirth at Hancock Shaker Village

The OWLES (Older, Wiser Lutherans and Episcopalians) have a fantastic adventure planned for Wednesday, April 24 at the Hancock Shaker Village. At 10 AM we will have a hayride around the farm with guided commentary and of course, a stop at the Round Barn to see the baby animals. The event costs more than the non-guided tour of the village, but it is being subsidized to bring the fee down from $40 to $25 per person. Because the tour had to be paid for in advance, the OWLES are trusting that 16 people will sign up to go. The tour is on rain or shine, and there are no refunds. We will have lunch at the cafe on the premises after the tour.

Please let us know if you would like to go, and mail Nancy King a check for $25 per person at 235 Walker St. Apt. 237, Lenox MA 1240.

Carpools will be arranged after we know who is attending, leaving to reach the Shaker Village before 10 AM on April 24. If you haven't been to OWLES before, this is a good trip to start with. You'll have a hoot!
