Hello Stage Door Dancers, Families, and Friends,
We made it, friends; happy June! As we bring our 2021-2022 dance season to a close here at the studio, I find this time to be perfect to reflect on all the incredible people and experiences this past year has brought us here at Stage Door School of Dance. How much our students have grown this year as dancers, artists, and people. How wonderful it has been to welcome so many new families and dancers to our studio. How beautiful all the new choreography our teachers have created is. June officially brings us all incredible amounts of joy, and reminds us of just how much we appreciate our time with you.
At this point, I hope you all have secured your recital tickets, and are ready to witness your dancers take part in the #BestShowEver! Why do we call it the #BestShowEver, you ask? Well, once you see your dancer shining bright on the Staller Center's Broadway caliber stage, under the lights designed by industry professionals, in their stunning costumes, believe me, you will know! If you have any questions regarding your upcoming SDSD recital experience on June 10, 11, or 12, please do not hesitate to stop by the studio front desk, or call (631) 654-8858 during business hours, and we will be more than ready to answer any question you may have!

With enrollment for both summer and fall now open, we encourage you to secure your spots on the SDSD dance floor now, so we can continue supporting your dancer through their incredible dance journey.

As many of you know, Stage Door will periodically increase our pricing. However, as an additional gift to our SDSD community, due to inflation and a local economy still recovering from the pandemic, we have opted to freeze all of our pricing as is for another year. We want to know that we are assisting, not hindering, your family in providing your child / loved one with the creative arts outlet that we feel is much needed at this time.

What: Stage Door School of Dance’s Summer Dance Session operates from July 11 – August 13. Dancers register to attend at least one class per week in their genre of choice based on their experience, age, and skill level. Summer Dance also includes private lessons, acrobatics and tumbling classes, as well as our WeDance program for differently-abled dancers!

What: Stage Door School of Dance’s Summer Dance Camps operate during two designated weeks over the summer, June 27 – July 1 & August 15 – August 19. Dancer’s attend camp Monday-Friday from 9am to 3pm, with each day dedicated to a different theme, and culminating in an end of week in-studio performance for family and friends.

What: Stage Door’s Fine Arts Club is a 2-hour preschool creative arts class operating Monday-Friday where children ages 2-5 years old will enjoy learning Dance, Yoga, Fitness, Music, Art, and Drama throughout the week, with a different theme each day.
|
|
|
|
What: Stage Door’s weDance program offers classes for differently-abled dancers with cognitive, physical, behavioral, and/or emotional needs. Celebrating over 12 seasons of providing socialization, joy, fun, and, of course, dance for EVERYONE!
|
|
|
|
BENEFIT TO NOTE: Both our Summer Dance Camps for dancers in Grades 1-7 and Summer Fine Arts Club for children ages 2-5 will operate during the same weeks: June 27 - July 1 and August 15 - August 19. A perfect opportunity to keep children of all ages active in the same place, at the same time!

PLEASE NOTE: SDSD Elite Company auditions are open to the public. Enrollment with Stage Door is not required to attend the meeting or audition for the SDSD Elite Company.

SDSD Crew: Enrolling for Summer & Fall
Stage Door School of Dance is proud to offer the SDSD Crew Program, an open-enrollment competitive dance team program for ALL dancers ages 5-17. No audition required.
SDSD Crew Teams:
- Liberty: Ages 5-7
- Carnegie: Ages 8-10
- Rockefeller: Ages 11-12
- Empire: Ages 13-17
- Hip Hop Crew I: Ages 5-8
- Hip Hop Crew II: Ages 9-12
- Hip Hop Crew III: Ages 13-17

HEALTH & SAFETY: As of March 2, 2022, FACE MASKS WILL BE OPTIONAL for all dancers, families, staff, and faculty entering the building or participating in classes. Use of hand sanitizing stations, social distancing, and limited physical contact are still strongly encouraged. Our health and safety policies, practices, and procedures are subject to change pending the immediate COVID-19 situation. We will continue to diligently communicate any updates with our staff, families, and clients as swiftly as possible.
