MENTAL ILLNESS

Can you believe it May already? Well time is flying by and before you know it's Christmas again. This month is dedicated to Mental Health awareness and have been observed since 1949.

Mental Health is no joke nor is it something to be ashamed of, it can affect anyone at anytime:

Mental illness, also called mental health disorders, refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.

Many people have mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability to function.

A mental illness can make you miserable and can cause problems in your daily life, such as at school or work or in relationships. In most cases, symptoms can be managed with a combination of medications and talk therapy (psychotherapy).

FIRST STEPS:

Recognizing there is an issue:

Seeking professional help

Seek friends and family help

Treatment : Treatments include combinations of medication, psychotherapy, peer support and sometimes, hospitalization in severe cases.

What's happening at Saraswati Devi Mandir

As a community, we recognize that our children are our most precious resources, and we are dedicated to supporting their growth and development. In an effort to encourage our students to learn about our religion and cultures, we have established a special tradition that takes place on the first Sunday of every month. On these days, we offer all students the chance to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of Education, through personal worship. We believe that it is essential for our students to understand the science behind their worship and the methods used, and we are committed to providing them with the knowledge and resources they need to do so. By instilling a love of learning and a deep respect for our traditions, we hope to help our children thrive and succeed in all areas of their lives.
