“Spring’s greatest joy beyond a doubt, is when it brings the children out.” Edgar Guest

Dear Southern Door Community,

Spring was definitely in the air this past week; however, Mother Nature surprised us with one last gust of snow this morning! It does look like the weather warms up by mid-week.

With just two short days this week with students, I hope you and your family will have a chance to enjoy a bit of spring break. Our staff are welcoming the days on Wednesday and Thursday to continue the necessary planning as we continue to meet the unique needs of operating school with both on site and virtual learners. Our health dashboard, published weekly on our website, continues to show very minimal impact of COVID in our school. This is due to the consistent effort of students, staff, and families to follow our health and safety protocols.

We are rounding the corner now to just two more months of school. It’s hard to believe that the school year has gone so quickly. As we renew our commitments to this last big push, two months is a lot of time when we think about the goals that can still be reached, and children continue to find success here at school. The positive partnerships we have between staff, students, and families are so important for everyone to finish this school year, Eagle Proud and Eagle Strong.

Yours in Education,
Patti

DAOUST NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAM
Congratulations to Alex Daoust, who has been selected to participate in the 2021’s WBCA All-Star game on July 15th. In an interview with Door County Daily News, Daoust called being part of the Eagles program an awesome experience, and mentioned the rarity of their seven-year run as Packerland Conference Champions. He also expressed gratitude for the family atmosphere that Southern Door Basketball has created. Go to this Door County Daily News link for the great interview with Alex.

The goal of the game is to raise money for the MACC fund which is an organization that fights childhood cancer. If you would like to make a donation of any size in Alex’s name for this great cause, you can go to this online link. All contributions are tax deductible.
VOLLEYBALL CELEBRATES SENIOR NIGHT
We wish our seniors good luck Monday night as they play Sevastopol at home, and are recognized at Senior Night! In a normal season, the gym would be filled to recognize the seniors as they wrap up their senior year. However, this year we hope you will join us in virtually applauding them if watching the game or thanking them when you see them personally. Thank you, seniors for the fun, the memories, and the leadership! We love you all, will miss you next year, and all our best wishes for you in the future! Pictured from left to right are: Natalee Jandrin, Nicole Norton, and Hailey Shimon.
