City Releases Text of Billboard Removal Measure
Santa Clarita officials have released the text of the ballot measure for a controversial deal that would remove 62 billboards from local roadways in exchange for 3 digital billboards along the freeways.

Check out those colors. The 1950s were black and white, weren't they? Not always, and thanks to Butch Hampton, whose mom ran the Snack Shack (this photo was shot from its roof), we see Newhall it its mid-century modern splendor in a late 1950s Fourth of July Parade. (Can't be later than 1959, given the 48-star flags.) Newhall Realty and Peterson's Shoes are Jazmin's Bakery now. Newhall Hardware is out of frame to the right.
