Actor Says He Shoved Homophobic Heckler

Newhall's Repertory East Playhouse is embroiled in controversy after a weekend performance of "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof" went awry. It seems an intoxicated heckler repeatedly yelled a homophobic epithet at the actors, one of whom leaped from the stage and physically subdued him. The actor was fired, other actors quit in a display of solidarity, and the REP closed the curtain on the show.
