2 Decades Later, 3,150 Homes in Castaic Moving Forward
Approved in 1992, some of the homes were built, along with an elementary school, but then the project stalled. Development companies came and went; some went bust. A mild recession hit, then a heavier one. Most of the 1,330-acre project area has remained vacant. Now the current property owner is moving forward with the main part of the project.

Supes Fund Improvements in Castaic, Val Verde, Towsley
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved about $600,000 Tuesday to upgrade the Castaic Sports Complex and renovate the Val Verde Park pool. The board also approved $161,000 that will go to the Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority for improvements at Ed Davis Park at Towsley Canyon.
