Many Santa Clarita Valley organizations and businesses are hosting Veterans Day events Tuesday to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. military.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley will receive a $21,846 grant from LA84, the nonprofit foundation that administers proceeds from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. New Old Stuff: Midget Racing Returns to Saugus  
After a wartime interruption, midget racing returned to Saugus with a vengeance in September 1945. From its origins on the streets of Los Angeles in 1914 when somebody thought to put a motor in a soapbox derby car, by 1941 midget racing had surpassed every other sport including Major League Baseball in paid admissions.
