Cheery Friday Greetings,
Just two items for today!
Outreach Services Librarian. SCRLC will soon be welcoming our new Outreach Services Librarian, Christine Brown. She joins us on November 7.
Christine comes to us from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Elmira Campus. In that she will be managing the Hospital Library Services Program, her experience in meeting the information needs of healthcare providers, administrative staff, faculty, and students as well as with collection development, research projects, and interlibrary loan will be invaluable.
Christine also interned at the Cornell Law Library and also did part-time LibGuide updating there., As a Grant & Contract Officer at Cornell, she reviewed and submitted grant applications to numerous government agencies including NIH. She negotiated award agreements received from successful proposals.
She is also committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and antiracism both in her professional work and personal life, including as President of the Board of the YWCA Elmira and the Twin Tiers. In her words, “it’s important work to achieve the ideals of this country.” Christine felt that this position combines her librarian experience with her commitment to DEIJA.
Welcome, Christine!
SCRLC’s Annual Meeting. This is an important one! Lauren Moore, our State Librarian, will join us to discuss digital equity and we’ll be presenting some of the ARPA projects. The governing members will be voting on new dues (basically a 3% cap each year for the next three years). We’ll also present a new tiered structure for the affiliates. To register, click here (or down below!).
Have a nice weekend!
Yours in partnership,
Mary-Carol Lindbloom
Executive Director
