A message from our Board of Directors...

As the summer winds down, we prepare our students to return to school, to learn, and to grow. Are we doing the same for ourselves and our businesses? In these times, it's critical to be current, keep our skills sharpened, and be open to learning and evolving; it's even better when we can help each other along the way. We at the SCBA strive toward these goals and hope to be an important resource at every stage of your business and for the community at large.

This month, we are excited to offer THREE events so please mark your calendars!

We'll begin the month with a Power Networking Breakfast at Merritt Health Club in Eldersburg on September 6th. Start your day with a healthy breakfast, friends, and maybe even a work out!

Next will be our Monthly Luncheon. Please note that our luncheon will be on the second Wednesday of the month, September 12th , instead of the usual 3rd Wednesday. Meet us at noon at Salernos! Tom Mazerski, Director for Miller Resources for Entrepreneurs, will discuss how to hi re and retain key employees in today's tight labo r market. He'll share his experience running a company in Australia from 2012 to 2014 when the labor market was at full employment, which required him to develop and implement several new hiring practices.

At the end of the month will be our Annual Golf Tournament which supports the SCBA's scholarship fund. This year, the SCBA proudly awarded a total of $5,000 worth of scholarships to local students.

So please join us at the Golf Tournament on September 25th at The Links at Challedon starting at 9am. There will be lots of fun and activities, whether you golf or not. Check out the entire calendar and register for any of these events HERE.
