A message from our Board of Directors...
May has arrived, where has the time gone? It is hard to believe summer is right around the corner, but we are ready for the warm weather. We have many exciting announcements to share with you all this month!
The SCBA Scholarship Fund application deadline has been extended to allow students additional time to submit their applications. The new deadline is Monday, May 10, 2021. Please spread the word to local students and parents! We have eight scholarships that we are eager to award. Application details can be found within this newsletter or on our website.
After a year of online networking events, we are excited to reconnect and see you in person at our first after-hours networking event of 2021! We will be hosting a pop-up event at 1623 Brewing Company on Wednesday, May 19 at 5 pm! The Buckngrill food truck will be serving burgers & brats, pretzels, wings & other things. We hope to see you there!
The Supporting Strategies Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Links at Challedon. This event is sponsored by Supporting Strategies. 100% of net proceeds go directly to the SCBA Scholarship Fund to help local students. Register for the golf tournament here. 2021 SCBA SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED |
|
Each year, the South Carroll Business Association (SCBA) awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are homeschooled or attend a school located in Carroll County, Maryland. This year eight (8) total scholarships will be awarded.
The SCBA Scholarship Fund was established to assist qualified students in obtaining a degree from accredited academic institutions of higher learning in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, or finance. During the selection process, emphasis is also placed on the student’s performance and desire to both maintain a strong academic record while exhibiting humanitarian qualities that have a positive impact on the Carroll County Community.
To be considered for this scholarship, a student must:
- be currently enrolled in a homeschool program or high school located in Carroll County, Maryland
- be a resident of Carroll County, Maryland
- have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above
- be continuing their education once graduating from high school
- demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the fields of business, finance, or entrepreneurship.
