Spring has finally sprung! Spring is the season of renewal, and we are all ready for a new beginning after a long winter. Take in the fresh air, admire the blooming flowers, and join us on Wednesday, April 21st for our monthly networking meting.

The 2021 SCBA Scholarship Fund Application is available and the deadline is quickly approaching. Students must apply by April 30th (must be postmarked by this date). Details are included within this newsletter and on our website. Please share the information with local students and parents. Good luck to all who apply!

The Supporting Strategies Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Links at Challedon. This event is sponsored by Supporting Strategies. 100% of net proceeds go directly to the SCBA Scholarship Fund to help local students. Register for the golf tournament here. March's speaker was Bryan Lyburn of Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County. He gave a wonderful presentation about Habitat for Humanity's mission and discussed the grand opening of the ReStore in Westminster. The 2021 Scholarship Fund Application
Each year, the South Carroll Business Association (SCBA) awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are homeschooled or attend a school located in Carroll County, Maryland. This year eight (8) total scholarships will be awarded.

The SCBA Scholarship Fund was established to assist qualified students in obtaining a degree from accredited academic institutions of higher learning in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, or finance. During the selection process, emphasis is also placed on the student’s performance and desire to both maintain a strong academic record while exhibiting humanitarian qualities that have a positive impact on the Carroll County Community.

To be considered for this scholarship, a student must:
  • be currently enrolled in a homeschool program or high school located in Carroll County, Maryland
  • be a resident of Carroll County, Maryland
  • have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above
  • be continuing their education once graduating from high school
  • demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the fields of business, finance, or entrepreneurship.
