Government Affairs Committee

Hello from the Government Affairs Committee! We have been busy in the Government Affairs Committee this past month; we toured the St Cloud water treatment facility with Mayor Kleis and found out how St Cloud is leading the nation in water treatment and how they are environmentally proactive in their process.

We also discussed more involvement with local governments to stay in touch with them and to give our much-needed feedback to the many property issues they deal with on a daily basis. We are here as a partner to help guide them.

Mary Ellen shared information on the historic properties in St Cloud and will get us more on that when the time comes.

We invited Wanda from the CMBA to join us at our meetings as they discuss the many topics that are similar to our agendas. We will hopefully see her soon and look forward to her input at our meetings.

We also discussed the Missing Middle Housing Bill which is what the state legislature is working on. This will affect all of us as we all know the lack of affordable housing in our community.

Mary Ellen Richter also shared with us that Dan Wolgamott is interested in meeting with our group, we will hopefully see him at one of our up and coming meetings.

Holiday Party Task Force

This past week the Holiday Party Task Force met to discuss the theme and layout for this year’s event. In the past we have gone big on the prizes, dinner, and entertainment to mark the end of another exciting year in the industry. This year we have made the decision to take a scaled back approach and allow everyone to focus on what they truly enjoy the most, socializing! With this we are also shortening the evening to be from 6pm-9pm. There will still be a short program to congratulate the award recipients for their hard work. Instead of a seated dinner and 3 hours of planned entertainment, we will have heavy appetizers, drinks, and a few mix and mingle games to keep the evening fun.

We will be sending out an email in the next few days regarding Sponsorship opportunities for this year. We last met March 12^th and plan to meet at 3:30PM for our next meeting on April 9th, directly prior to Social Hour. We are excited to welcome Lance Bukowski to our committee! If you have any interest in joining a committee, we are looking for new members to join, we encourage you to swing by our meeting and check out this low commitment committee!

What have we done for you lately: During the month of March not only was there a SCAAR Billboard, the PR Committee also met with Elijah from the ALS Association to discuss how we can work together for the 2024 ALS Walk.

March Social: Our March Social took place March 12^th and was sponsored by Tri County Abstract & Title, and there were three winners of generous gift baskets which included wine glasses, noodles and gift cards. The three winners were, Amber Laudenbach & Jake Mueller from Homeowners Financial & Bridget Vee with The Title Team.

April Social: Will be April 9^th starting at 4PM at House of Pizza in St Cloud, this month Social will be sponsored by Kitchen Wise & Closet Wise.

Future Social’s: We are currently booking sponsorship slots into 2025, if you have any interest in reserving a month to be a sponsor, we currently have openings for April, May & June. Please note that Sponsorship’s do require a $50.00 sponsorship fee to help cover pizza costs.
