FREE Access to the information your nonprofit needs to be smart and strategic with your funding requests


Digging deeper is critical to your fundraising success. The Small Business Center offers FREE access to Candid's Foundation Directory, providing comprehensive and up-to-date information on over 298,000 grant makers in the social sector.The directory includes expanded profiles of grant makers, grants, and recipients. These profiles offer valuable insights into who is funding, what kind of projects they are funding, and who is receiving the funds.


Reservations are required to access the FDO. This is an in-person appointment at BRCC, Flat Rock Campus. Appointments are available on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM -2:00 PM.

The SBC can pair you with a business mentor who is an expert in your area of need-whether it's writing a business or marketing plan, understanding financial records, or getting ready to buy or sell a business. Our Business Mentors work with you one-on-one to identify the obstacles holding you back and will help you develop a personalized plan for success.

The Business Alliance of Upper Transylvania (BAUT) is made up of member businesses that operate within and serve western or “Upper” Transylvania County, NC which includes the communities of Rosman, Balsam Grove, Quebec, Lake Toxaway, and Sapphire.


BAUT produces and distributes the free Red Feather Guide, a weekly digital publication showcasing activities and special offerings in our area, as well as a free seasonal print Visitor Guide providing information about local businesses offering dining, shopping, lodging, and entertainment.

FABA Coffee Club-FREE

FABA Coffee Club meets the first and third Tuesday morning of each month at Lutheridge in Arden. Everyone gets one minute to tell their story and we have a 12 minute speaker. There is open networking before and after the meeting. Coffee Club is free and open to FABA members and guests, who can visit up to three times before having to decide to join FABA.

FABA Focus After Five-FREE

5:30 PM -7:00 PM 

Second Thursday of each month



Focus After Five is hosted by a FABA member at their business, so the event is at a different location each month. The event features free food, drinks, and door prizes at the end. The whole event is open networking, and the host and door prize sponsors share about their business at the end. Focus After Five is a free event and open to everyone.
