PRAISE & WORSHIP
Come praise and worship God with CWOM on Saturday, Feb 26, 2022, at Noonday prayer for our Church and community. We will meet in front of the Church at 11:55 AM to praise God for where he’s brought us and encourage each other for the journey ahead.  If you join us physically, please remember to wear your KN95 mask.  If you don’t feel comfortable physically joining us, come to the church, stay in your car, and WORSHIP!  If you have too much to do on Saturday, drive by the church and hook your horn – it’s praying time!

"Celebration of the Voices of African American Authors"
Fellow Second Baptist member Nailah Malik, in her capacity as a veteran librarian of the Los Angeles Public Library, invites our entire congregation to her 2022 African American History Month program in which U.S. Congressional Representative Karen Bass is participating as the special guest reader. "Celebration of the Voices of African American Authors" is a pre-recorded program that will be presented, Saturday, Feb 26th at 3:00 pm via YouTube. The online link to the program is embedded in the accompanying promo flier. This marks the debut program presented by the African American Librarians Booktalk Ensemble in which 6 dynamic librarians, a young adult, and a 3rd grader will each summarize a notable African American book, and historical notes about the African American experience will be recalled by the program host. Please mark your calendar to join Nailah and special guest Congressmember Karen Bass in bringing forth this well-planned program that will give praise to our African American authors.
As we celebrate Black History, let’s remember and appreciate all that the ancestors fought for to give us more opportunities in life. When you have an opportunity, visit a Black History Museum or a black art exhibit at a local museum, read a book or two about Black Americans, support Black businesses in your neighborhood, play Motown or other black musicians, and/or watch a film or attend a play about our people. We are each the models for our children and family members. This link contains a little history, but we make history every day – CWOM
