We've been busy this legislative session, working hard to ensure Senate Bill 58, "Application of Foreign Law in Certain Cases," does not become a law. This legislation is a waste of our state's tax dollars. We have real problems in this state and the Florida legislature is wasting time solving imaginary problems.

The next stop for SB 58 is the Government Oversight and Accountability committee this Thursday.

1. We need your help to make as many calls as possible this week to the Government Oversight and Accountability committee members, we've provided a script below as well as all Senate committee member emails and office phone numbers.    

"Hi, my name is _________ and I'm calling with Emerge USA about a very important issue affecting our community. 

Senate Bill 58 is an unnecessary piece of legislation. SB 58 is the latest proposed version of legislation that, for the past three years, has been introduced to address a perceived problem that simply does not exist.  

I ask that Senator __________ oppose this legislation in the Government Oversight and Accountability Committee. If the Senator is going to support this legislation, I would like to know why.Thank you for your time."
