Adriana Huezo Ayala Receives Prestigious Arthur S. Marmaduke Award for Outstanding High School Counseling
Congratulations to Adriana Huezo Ayala, the Higher Education Center Coordinator at Segerstrom High School, for being honored with the Arthur S. Marmaduke Award by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). This prestigious award acknowledges her exceptional contributions to high school counseling. Each year, CSAC recognizes an outstanding California high school counselor who demonstrates exemplary skills in assisting students in achieving their college dreams with the Arthur S. Marmaduke High School Counselor Award.

SAUSD Students Shine at State Speech Championships, Championing Powerful Storytelling
Seventeen SAUSD students recently excelled at the California High School Speech Association State Championships in Clovis, CA, sparking pride. Three students ranked in the top 10 statewide, with seven more in the top 25. Remarkably, all our students placed among the top 55 in their events, underscoring our district's depth of talent. Notably, Fernanda Meza claimed the #1 spot in Dramatic Interpretation, her performance highlighting Gabriel Fernandez's tragic story and advocating for children within the system. Their collective success underscores SAUSD's commitment to excellence and the transformative power of storytelling. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding achievements!

Santa Ana Public Schools Foundation Awards Nearly $40,000 In Scholarships to 31 SAUSD Students
Each year, the Santa Ana Public Schools Foundation (SAPSF) solicits applications for scholarships to support graduating seniors of the Santa Ana Unified School District. This year, 31 students have been selected to receive scholarships totaling $37,500 for the 2024 school year. These outstanding graduating seniors from SAUSD were honored during a scholarship awards ceremony at Saddleback High School on Wed., April 17, 2024. AB 469 Reminder: SAUSD Seniors Required To Submit Financial Aid Applications By May 2, 2024
SAUSD seniors have until May 2, 2024 to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA), as outlined in AB 469. Completion of a Financial Aid application is necessary in order to qualify for federal student aid such as grants, work study, and loans. If you see anything suspicious around our school sites, please don't hesitate to act. Your vigilance is key in safeguarding our educational environments. By working together, we can ensure that our schools remain safe and nurturing places for our students to learn and grow.
