The Program Committee, led by Dr. Desiree Morgan, is hard at work putting together the best SABI meeting yet. In the meantime, what you have all been waiting for, the ‘Call for Abstracts’ for the annual meeting has gone out! It is time to finalize collecting and analyzing your data and summarizing your research project in the few but powerful sentences of a well-structured scientific abstract.


The scientific session, a.k.a. ‘The Cutting Edge’ plenary session, is the crown jewel of the annual meeting. Innovation, innovation, innovation… this is what SABI is about. And yes, your favorite large language model (ChatGPT, Bard, and alike) can indeed write the abstract. But...

The 2024 SABI Annual Meeting October 5-9 at the historic Mayflower in Washington, DC promises to be monumental. The meeting will feature leading experts in a variety of topics they discuss the latest advancements and technologies in the field.

Abstract submissions for the conference are accepted until May 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM EST. We invite you to participate by submitting your work for consideration. Whether you are an established researcher or an emerging professional, we welcome your contributions to enrich our conference program.

New SABI Learning Management System

Earlier this year, SABI launched its new Learning Management System (LMS), providing an innovative platform for access to the 2023 SABI Conference plenary sessions. This initiative aims to enhance the learning experience in the field of advanced body imaging and empower professionals to stay at the forefront of their field.


The SABI Learning Management System offers a host of features designed to enhance the educational opportunities available to radiologists beyond conference season. Users will have the unique opportunity to virtually attend sessions, gaining valuable insights from leading experts in the field of advanced body imaging.


By successfully completing the instructional modules offered on the site, participants can earn up to 25 credits. This feature guarantees that medical professionals can fulfill their accreditation criteria while effortlessly expanding their knowledge and expertise.

Member Spotlights

 Eric Tamm, MD


Dr. Eric Tamm, a Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, has been a member for 16 years and is passionate about both patient care and professional education.


He leads the pancreatic oncologic imaging team at MD Anderson and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of JCAT, the official journal of SABI.


Dr. Tamm finds great value in the relationships built with colleagues at the annual meeting and appreciates SABI's focus on practical applications of advancements in imaging.


When not working, he enjoys spending time with family, reading sci-fi/fantasy, and traveling.

Melina Hosseiny, MD


Dr. Melina Hosseiny, a radiology resident at UCSD, has become a rising star in AI and medical imaging research. She is passionate about mentorship and serves in leadership roles for both SABI and other radiology organizations.


What makes SABI special for Dr. Hosseiny? The supportive community, top-notch mentors, and cutting-edge focus on AI all resonate with her. She also values SABI's multi-specialty approach and commitment to empowering young members.


Dr. Hosseiny actively participates in SABI's Early Career Committee and finds the educational offerings and collaborative environment invaluable. Her research interests perfectly align with SABI's focus on AI innovation.


Beyond medicine, Dr. Hosseiny enjoys an active lifestyle that includes piano, skiing, tennis, and Aerial Yoga.
