In our Gallery: Richard Hydren

With a life-long passion for horses and over five decades immersed in the arts, Richard does more than just take photographs- he delves deeply to express the emotions of the moment and capture the unique and valued relationships shared between horses and their humans, uniting his artistic vision with the dreams of the subject.

SEPTEMBER KIDS PROGRAMMING

September Passive Programming:

Each month in the Children's Room, you'll be able to participate in a themed scavenger hunt for a special bookmark and a guessing game to win a prize!

September's theme is all about BACK TO SCHOOL! When you need a break from homework, stop by to check out our September Book Displays! This month, we explore jobs & workers rights with one display, and school with our other one!

Teens can stop by to check out displays on Manga to Anime adaptations, and our brat display, which is full of books with sassy/bratty characters!

Kids Guessing Game: An apple a day might not keep your teacher away, but it could make them happy! We have a bunch of apples in our jar to give out, but we don’t know how many there are. Can you help? The closest two guesses in each age bracket will get to pick out a prize! 5 years & younger | 6 to 12 years. September 1st to September 30th .

iSpy Game: iSpy is back for September! We’re celebrating being back to school, but we need help packing our backpacks and our supplies are scattered all around the room. Can you help us? Bring a completed sheet back to a librarian for a prize! September 1st to September 30th.

Teen Guessing Game:

Everybody makes mistakes, and the erasers in this jar can go a long way to helping get rid of them. Unfortunately, we could use some help counting them out. Can you help? Prizes will be awarded to the two closest guesses. For tweens & teens ages 11 – 18, September 1st to September 30th.

SEPTEMBER PROGRAMMING

Not sure what to read? Let us help!
If you're a teen between the ages of 13 and 18 and you have trouble figuring out what to read next, the Youth Services Department has a solution for you!

The YA LitCrate is a mystery box filled with books and goodies for you to enjoy! All you have to do is fill out a form to let us know what you enjoy reading, and we'll give you a call when it's ready to pick up.

The books and box must be returned, but the gifts inside are yours to keep!
Interested in participating? Look at our website here for more information on how to get your LitCrate!
