Dear Commissioners:

 

We are writing to you about the process for the upcoming Comprehensive Plan update which we understand must be submitted to the State by August of 2024.

 

Last year, the Commission held two growth management workshops that attracted many stakeholders with a variety of ideas and suggestions aimed at the future of the County.

 

The St. Johns County Civic Roundtable has championed the need for a long-range vision plan for the County. In addition, a list of suggestions for changes has been proffered by the Roundtable which has been a basis for discussion with the building community.

 

We come together to suggest that in order to engage the community and all County stakeholders to adequately review the comp plan, that the County seek an outside consultant to help facilitate these discussions.

 

An outside consultant can organize, coordinate and moderate the necessary discussions. We understand that Clay County has successfully used this process to engage all stakeholders.
