To RPBG Members, colleagues and friends;

With the advent of the new year comes a "new look" for the Rogers Park Builders Group newsletter. Instead of quarterly editions, followed by us sending individual articles, we will now use this far simpler format, with a main story, a member profile, a property management tip (called "Trent's Tips"), and a bit more. We will also recognize one of RPBG's valued sponsors.

In time, we will decide whether to send this newsletter email out once or twice/month.

We hope you enjoy this new format. Let us know if any of you would like to submit a story - preferably under 1200 words.

RECORD NUMBER OF

REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS ATTEND

2024 RPBG TRENDS WORKSHOP

On January 23rd, the Rogers Park Builders Group conducted its 21st Annual Trends

in the Industry Workshop.

A record 132 real estate professionals attended this upbeat and fun event, held at the Rhapsody Theater at 1328 W. Morse. (Check their schedule for amazing magical performances.

The professionals attending the event included property owners and managers, brokers, Realtors©, lenders and folks from other industries that service owners and managers of multifamily.

Thank you to our keynote sponsors: Xfinity Communities, Independent Recycling Services, Alpha Adjusting, and to our other sponsors as well.

Steve Shah, RPBG Treasurer,

at Trends Workshop with

Kelsey Kelso of Trinity Warranty.

Mary Bao, Director, with Giselle Hennings of Northside Community Resources.

All attendees sit at tables of eight, with one person serving as table moderator. Together, each group answers seven questions - the same questions every year, updated to reflect what’s happening currently. Together, each group projects two years out - predicting the vigor of the economy (Dow Jones), employment (Illinois unemployment), market time to sell condos, rental prices, and valuation of apartment buildings.

Upon conclusion of the group discussions, all attendees gather to see the results obtained by the other group.

And the highlight for many - to see which table moderator from two years ago garnered the most accurate results. At the conclusion of the 2024 meeting, we announced our 19th winner (from 2022) - Chris Manley of Lakeside Bank, who narrowly prevailed over Allen Smith, of Winnemac Properties.

One of our table moderators, Tracy Scanlon, who is creating a new housing provider group called Women Housing & Income Providers, clearly enjoyed herself. “It was a hoot! I met cool people and lost a bet to Alan of Westward360 about my 4 plus one.”

The RPBG will review the results from this year’s Trends in January 2026 - and we encourage those reading this newsletter to attend…save the date 1/27/26!
