The Month At A Glance

This flag means ALL ARE WELCOME! Additionally, it gives a message of inclusivity to specific people who have historically been excluded.

We Celebrate 25 Years of Being An Open and Affirming Congregation

June 30th we will celebrate Shadow Rock's congregational vote to be an Open and Affirming Congregation to all people. Our celebration will have music, a potluck, and a visit with Dr. Toni Hawkins (our Southwest Conference Minister).

New People Join Shadow Rock June 30th!

As if we did not have enough to celebrate, we add to the joy as we have new people making their belonging to us official.

Come, shake their hands, give them a hug, and welcome them to our spiritual family! Then stay for sloppy joes in Smith Hall.

Join Us For Our Sloppy Joe Meal After Church!

Let's have fun!

In Other Shadow Rock News . . . .

These children and 13 more are new to our country. They have been here only two weeks from a UN Refugee Camp. Because of your compassion and generosity they have food for a few more weeks. In this picture they are actually holding cookies. Children are the same everywhere!

FLAMY GRANT'S MUSIC SHOWS UP IN OUR WORSHIP SERVICE

Travis Meyers shared a song from Flamy Grant's album Bible Belt Baby titled "I'm Not Ashamed". It fit perfectly with our theme to find your voice and share your story. Thank you, Travis!

Flamy Grant has a remarkable story of faith and resiliency. Visit her website and store here.

Shadow Rock Is A Polling Station

We are mostly closed for our July Sabbath but not completely. Shadow Rock is a polling station for July 11 - August 6. This includes setup and tear down. Actual voting is July 19 - 31. Polls open at 9 am. Closed Sundays.

“There are three kinds of patriots, two bad, one good. The bad are the uncritical lovers and the loveless critics. Good patriots carry on a lover's quarrel with their country.”

Do You Crave Power? Join the Sound Team!

We are always in need of people to volunteer to help with sound, lights, and other tech jobs in the church. The most regular demand is on Sunday mornings but we also have needs for weddings, funerals, and special events.

If you have an interest in helping with this important ministry, please contact Pastor Ken or Joe Hesley. All are welcome but this may have a special appeal to the nerds among us. Thanks!

WISE Moment

Pastor Ken regrets missing the WISE moment this past Sunday. In honor of their work and the good word they bring to all of us here it is.

The WISE Team provides the following information:

Update On Facility Projects

Soffit Repair and Replacement

The congregation approved this project and is moving forward with deposits and purchasing of materials. A start date is yet to be determined but we anticipate the project to be completed before Labor Day.

Fire Panel

The congregation approved this project and is moving forward with deposits. The deposits allow Bay Alarm to draw plans and start applying for permits. A start date is yet to be determined but it is anticipated to be in October 2024.
