"This review has been written pretty much 1 year to the day from surgery. My pictures are a time line of the stages you will expect to go through.

Quite frankly Life changing.... I can not fault The Wimpole Clinic and their amazing team. Before, during and after I felt I was being looked after and in safe hands.

I would highly recommend them to anyone that is thinking of having a procedure... I would honestly say it's one of the best thing I've done.

Wimpole Clinic Reviews in November 2021
Every day we see the impact that our procedures have on boosting self-esteem and transforming people's lives and patients are all to happy to leave a review and write to us about their experience.

Being 23 years old, I was very sceptic to begin with on whether a hair transplant was appropriate for me at the time. However, thanks to James Walton’s knowledge and constant support whenever I needed it, I know an FUE transplant is absolutely the route I want to take. Over the last 6 months of being in contact with James I now class him as a friend due to the assistance and reassurance he has offered over this time. My operation is only 1 week away and I couldn’t be more excited to see the results.

Absolutely amazing service from start to finish, if it’s a hair transplant you’re looking for this is the place …amazing service from James and team…highly recommend..don’t waste your time anywhere else..wimpole hair clinic.

I didn’t think anything could be done for me! I fact I’d had a couple of consolation with some other clinics many years before and got the feeling I was to far bald a wasn’t worth even trying to do anything, But a good friend convinced me to go and see James Walton at the Maypole clinic early 2021,
I’m so glad I did, admittedly I’ve had to have two sections but I was completely bald, now I’ve got more than I ever expected and am Really happy with the result!

I really can’t recommend theses guy enough,

Matt (Kent)

I sent the same email to four hair transplant clinics in London. Matt was the first to respond with a call the next day. He was very helpful and was not trying to sell to me at all, just providing me with information. I went in to meet him that week. The other clinics in the same league as Wimpole were almost double the price.

Throughout the initial contact to the day of surgery Matt was more than helpful replying prompty to any query or concern I had. They advised me what I needed to have done. On the day of the surgery, 1st November, I was nervous but was soon at ease with Dr Mays professional and friendly team. I had 2200 FUE, it was pretty much pain free and the day was absolutely fine.

Post surgery the aftercare contact was over and above what I would of expected. Your obviously concerned after doing these things but Matt promptly answered any questions or worries I had. I am almost one month in now, so I look forward to see what results I get in 3 - 11 months time.

Wimpole clinic is a professional outfit at a fair price.

I am 10 days post-op after having an FUE transplant and very happy with the results. Matt was very helpful and knowledgeable during my initial video call and recommended I visit the clinic in person, which I did. This meant he could draw a natural hairline which met with my expectations and he gave me plenty of time in our consultation, answering all of my questions. When it came to the day of the surgery, I live 2 hours away from London and the clinic kindly put me up in a hotel the night before, all paid for by them which saved me a lot of money.

Dr. Ahmed and his team of technicians were friendly, professional and put me at ease. The whole procedure went very smoothly. I didn’t really feel any pain and may have drifted off a couple of times! It took about 5 hours in total for my 1600 grafts. The clinic provided lunch before I left and the aftercare has been very straightforward. The scabs have mostly come off now and I look forward to seeing the optimal results a year from now, but looks good so far.
Overall, a very pleasant experience and I’d recommend the Wimpole clinic to anyone considering an FUE transplant.

Highly rate and recommend the Wimpole Clinic. This clinic have been nothing but professional and fully reliable. This is my first experience in cosmetic works, I am 28 and decided that now is the right time for me to do something about some areas on my head that I was starting to see thin and impact on my day to day confidence.

I was recommended to the clinic by my barber, so I decided to get in touch with the clinic with their online form on a Saturday and by Monday, I heard back from a man named Matt via a phone call to discuss my requirements. An appointment was made for a consultation and to my surprise this was totally flexible around me, so within 2 weeks I took a trip up to the clinic, where once again I was greeted with Matt but this time in person. This gave me immediate confidence and familiarity, one thing I definitely found at this clinic is you get treated like you are the only patient and number one priority.

Matt did an incredible job at explaining my options and then became someone I could call upon to ask as many questions as I wanted and then when ready to proceed became the man that guided me through to the chair on the morning of the transplant. I couldn’t speak highly enough of Matt he is very attentive and he really did make this experience relaxing and trusting and personal. He has been on speed dial and gets back to me every time before and post surgery.

I also had the pleasure of meeting James who was also a great guy and also gave me a lot of positive vibes and useful information. So from the staff front, amazing. As for the hair transplant this too was an experience I won’t forget, I arrived early in the morning and was introduced to the surgeon (he was previously a neurosurgeon, can you have a better person working on your head?!) I was introduced to the nurse also and this lady was great, really positive and upbeat and she took charge of the transplant itself once the surgeon had issued the various ‘drugs’ used throughout the day to make the transplant as pain free and comfortable as possible.

We braved the shave, discussed the hairline with the surgeon and nurse, drew it out until we was happy and then begun. The transplant went really well, I was on the chair at 8.30am and finished by 2pm. 2000 grafts later (500 more than I thought I was going to need but at no extra charge).

I had my crown and hairline addressed. I was in charge of the Tv remote and could watch whatever I wanted whilst the transplant was underway. You have to remain so still whilst having the surgery so having the choice of programme was nice seeing as the TV was a nice distraction from what was going on around me. When surgery was completed I was offered lunch (I decided to sit through and have my lunch after surgery but you can have a break if you wish). I was then greeted by Matt and James both of which sat down had a conversation with me and gave me a talk about recovery and next important steps.

Over the following days I followed the Wimpole clinics instructions to a T and was super careful and caring with my head for the next 10 days. After which I was able to wear a cap so I could return to work and then after 14 days the gym. Matt was there to take my calls, regularly check in and he even replied to my message on a Sunday when I run out of saline spray as I messaged panicking that my hair would dry out, yet once again I was rest assured and given advice very promptly! Matt is a superstar. I am now 6 and a half weeks post surgery and I have had no pain, no problems or side effects and all seems to be going very smoothly. I can’t wait for my final results.

It is still early days as transplants are not overnight results, there is definitely hair in the transplanted regions but despite not seeing the final result I have a heck of a lot of praise for this clinic and what they do to change the lives of us thinning men. Thank you to the whole team over at Wimpole and if you are thinking of getting a transplant, my advice is book a consultation and go for it!

I did my research, read a lot and had a video consultation with one other clinic, who were in the Harley Street area, yet I didn't come off of that video call feeling I wanted to use that particular clinic.

I then contacted The Wimpole Clinic and had an initial telephone conversation with Matt. Having been in sales, I can spot a sales pitch a mile off, but there was none of that with Matt. He was impartial in his approach and spent time understanding what I wanted to achieve and why and then took me through the main steps in the hair transplant process and outlined the methods used. There was no implied obligation at the end of the call, but as I felt comfortable with what I had encountered so far, I asked for a quotation and was asked to submit images of both the recipient area and the donor area. I could have gone to the clinic, but chose to submit photos. Based upon what I had told Matt I would like to achieve, he marked-up one of the images, showing the hairline he felt I was after, which he sent to me for consideration. I liked what I saw and asked for price, which he quoted and this seemed reasonable. I then asked for a face to face consultation and travelled to Harley Street to meet Matt. He spent time marking-up my proposed hairline and made a couple of adjustments. He was insistent that the proposed hairline had to be realistic, saying that some people ask for hairlines that are just unnatural and which have to be turned down by the clinic. The implanted grafts are for life, so a crazy hairline you would have forever, if someone agreed to perform that. Based upon the hairline mark up, Matt said that it wouldn't cost as much as his original quote, as seeing me in the flesh, I needed less grafts than the images I sent suggested. I reflected for a day, or so and then asked to book for a transplant. Although I agreed to a date 4 weeks away, there was one earlier theatre slot which I declined, as I couldn't make that date.

I spoke with Matt two, or three times before my surgery, as I had supplementary questions and he was able to answer them fluently, providing explanations when required.

I arrived half an hour early on the day and expected to have to wait in reception area, but no, Matt came straight out and said he'd be with me in 5 minutes. In fact it was less. I was taken into a consultation room and asked to read my patient notes and patient information, before signing consent. I then met the surgeon, Dr Moussa, who I later found out had worked as a spinal and neuro surgeon, so great background there.

As a surgeon I see him as a 'Mr' rather than 'Dr' in title. Felt in safe and capable hands. The specialist nurses were Bernie and Lucyia, who were wonderful and we had some great conversations. Mr Moussa drew the new hairline and was very careful for the shape and curvature to blend with my anatomy and made a couple of minor tweaks before he was happy and asked if I was, which I was. Head shaved all over. Local anaesthetic injected in scalp, which was more comfortable than when I have dental LA injections. Oral sedation relaxed me and as Mr Moussa was preparing the recipient site for grafts by puncturing the scalp, I fell asleep for around an hour and a half.

He was a very nice man and we chatted while he was working. Then the nurses took over, taking the grafts from the back of my head, after Mr Moussa administered LA injections. Again, slight discomfort upon injecting, but not as Painful as some dental ones. 1700 grafts were removed by Lucia, while Bernie was at the microscope separate the hair follicles and I was chatting with them as they counted up to 1700.

What was interesting was that Bernie separated the follicles with 2 hairs and those with 3 hairs, as they transplant the denser ones in specific areas of the new hair line to give fuller hair. Very clever.

Once the grafts were ready, both Lucyia and Bernie implanted them, one working each side of my head. Naturally, they had magnifying headsets and I asked at one point to see exactly what they were implanting, which they gladly showed me and talked me through. Felt no pain.

They completed in about 90-minutes. I was in surgery for just under 4 and half hours, then went to recovery where a little buffet was waiting for me, which hit the spot. As they finished ahead of the estimated time, Dr Moussa kindly phoned the driver who was picking me and my Wife up, to see if he could arrive a little early. What a nice touch.

1st day post op Matt wanted to speak with me and he said he'd like to catch-up every couple of weeks, yet I am free to call him at any time. I'm 2 days post op now and only took paracetamol on the evening of surgery, not that I felt I really needed them. No pain or pain relief since.

I hope I've given you a comprehensive description of my journey so far. I'm glad I chose The Wimpole Clinic.
Patient Letter To Wimpole Clinic - 29/11/2021

"Dear Matt, I wanted to write to say thank you to yourself for your professional, helpful and courteous approach and advice on my hair transplant journey, so far.

Also, I was really appreciative of such a great surgical team on the day, so please will you pass this letter to them, so they can personally read my comments.

To Mr Moussa, Lucyia and Bernie; you really did make the whole surgical process pleasant and comfortable. Chatting to you all during the procedure was nice – you were very patient and friendly.

I apologise if I rambled-on, I can be like that even without sedation!"

"I cannot recommend the Wimpole clinic highly enough. Both the doctor and his entire support team were exceptional. The clinical assistants where very helpful in explaining what was happening and also advising on their progress.

I am delighted with my results to date and am repeatedly complimented on how natural my hairline looks. I have recommended the clinic to several close friends, a number of whom have also now had the procedure and again experienced exceptional results. 5 stars!!”
