First Water - Milling and Paving Dates

First Water Village Owners,

Starting Thursday, July 18, MR Tanner will begin milling/ removing a portion of the asphalt sections of your village roadways.

The following week, on July 26, MR Tanner will begin paving the blue section of the road as marked on the map below.

See below for access planning for July 18 and July 26. Please read the information below, and the project notice provided by Frank Civil Consulting so you are fully prepared for the paving day on July 26.

Please contact the Association office if you have any questions,

Alex Wright, CMCA, CAAM

Interim Community Manager, Superstition Mountain

July 18 - Milling

Access will not be restricted completely during the milling process. However, due to the tight nature of the roads in your Village, entering or exiting during the process may be met with delays while the equipment is in the road.

MR Tanner anticipates starting the day milling northbound SMD (red) and then moving to First Water (blue). This means localized delays are more likely in the afternoon of the 18th.

July 26 - Paving

Access will be restricted entirely for 24 hours beginning the morning of July 26 through the morning of July 27 (assuming no weather delays). During this time, vehicular access into and out of the village will be blocked entirely.

To facilitate residential access during this 24-hour time frame, the Golf Club is allowing First Water Residents to park in the Golf Club or Sports Court parking lots. Alternatively, you may park in the cul-de-sac across SMD in Sunset Village. All areas are a short walk. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please let me know as soon as possible.

Parking

If you are planning to be on property on July 26 AND need to enter or exit in your vehicle when access is restricted in your village, please plan ahead to park in one of the designated locations. Because access restrictions begin at 6:00 am, you will want to park your vehicle outside the village the night prior – Thursday, July 25.

First Water FAQs

If I am not in Gold Canyon / won't be in the property on July 26, is there anything I need to do for this project?

No. If you are not in the community and will not require vehicular access to your home on July 26, you need not do anything else.

I don't live in the area adjacent to the blue highlighted for road removal. Will I be affected?

Yes, you may run into localized delays during the milling on July 18, and with the fresh pavement at the entrance to the village, you will not be able to enter or exit First Water Village from 6:00 am on Friday, July 26 through 6:00 am on Saturday, July 27.

Friday is trash and recycle pickup day - are accommodations being made?

Yes. We have spoken with RAD / Waste Connections of Arizona, and MR Tanner. You can place your refuse and recycle out as normal on Thursday, July 25, and they will be picked up first thing Friday morning. After trash collection is complete, MR Tanner will begin the paving.
