LIKE IT - LOCK IT - KEEP IT
|
|
Every year we hear of vehicles being broken into in driveways. Please read this message from the Mundelein Police Department and tell your teens too!
Lock It: Lock your vehicle every time you leave it unattended and take your valuables with you. Remove cell phones, cameras, laptop computers, briefcases, backpacks, wallets and purses. Do not leave gift wrapped packages or other valuable items lying on the seat.
Hide It: Hide your valuables in your trunk, under the seats, in the glove box, or other compartments within the vehicle. Lock all your valuables in the trunk or glove compartment before you reach your destination or ideally take them inside with you.
Keep it: Personal responsibility is the best prevention to safeguard personal property and to prevent becoming a victim.
Make a police report, if your car is burglarized, even if nothing or just change is taken. This will help us track patterns. The Mundelein Police Department non-emergency number is 847-968-4600. As always in an emergency dial 9-1-1

- Appear in person and register annually with the Lake County Building and Zoning office. Registration is free.
- Work only between the hours of 11 am and 7 pm.
- Carry his/her own Certificate of Registration bearing the sales person’s name, employer’s name, manufacturer’s name, type of business, and an embossed seal.

Dispose of Your Prescription Drugs
|
|
I recently spoke with a 21 year old recovering heroin addict who told me how he and his friends started taking drugs in the 7th grade by going in medicine cabinets and taking vicodin, oxycodone and other drugs. Don't assume it can't happen to your children and grandchildren. Have you checked your medicine cabinet lately and disposed of the prescriptions you don't use?
Please make it a priority to go through your medicines and dispose of them. Most of our police stations have drop off boxes for the drugs. Please click here to find the location nearest you.
