SECONDARY WATER TURN OFF - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13

Riverton's secondary (irrigation water) shut-off is scheduled for this weekend of Oct. 13 – Oct. 15. Your secondary water may be shut off before or after these dates.

Since the secondary water is managed by four separate canal companies, and not Riverton City, we only have a tentative date.

We encourage residents to open their secondary water valves so the water will drain before winter. Call the water department if you have any questions: 801-208-3162

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA - SPONSOR A WREATH TODAY

Riverton City is proud to sponsor the Wreaths Across America program at Riverton City Cemetery to honor and remember veterans buried there. Each year, wreaths sponsored by community members are laid at the graves of veterans prior to Christmas. This wreath-laying ceremony happens simultaneously with other ceremonies at participating cemeteries across the country.

It is our goal to have a wreath for EVERY veteran buried in the cemetery.

Riverton residents and neighbors are encouraged to sponsor a $17 wreath each year for a veteran buried in the Riverton City Cemetery. Wreaths are placed at veteran's graves at a wreath-laying ceremony each year in December.

REASONS TO CLEAN UP FALLEN LEAVES

Fallen leaves are often trapped by roadway curbs and end up blocking gutters flow and storm drains, increasing the likelihood of flooding. Excessive amounts of leaves also end up draining into canals, creeks and the Jordan River, often resulting in smelly water and depleting the oxygen level in the water, making it harmful to fish. Help us prevent flooding and to keep our creeks and rivers clean by removing leaves from your property, sidewalk and gutters by regularly mulching or bagging.
