Reminders

Good afternoon Riverside Families,

What a special week we had with students and families recognizing our staff for all their extra efforts every day! Thank you to our PIE organization and all of our families for the outpouring of appreciation this week!

Happy Mother's Day to our Riverside Moms - Thank you for everything you do and we hope you are enjoying the day!

The week is here - we have our annual Family, Fun and Food Trucks PIE fundraiser on Wednesday evening on the Ben Franklin playground from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. It always proves to be a fun evening and we hope to see you there! Please see all the information below.

Friday will be a Riverside spirit day so students can rock their Rockets or Falls gear!

If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to me.

Respectfully,

Scott Walter

Riverside Hosting DARE Training

We will be hosting a DARE training for officers from Wisconsin and Michigan this Thursday morning in our 5th grade classrooms. 5th graders should wear their DARE shirts. If you see a number of squad cars in our lot on Thursday morning, this is why.

Bake Sale - Girls on the Run

Our 5th grade Girls on the Run team will be hosting a bake sale on Tuesday, May 14 starting at 8:30am. The team is raising money to donate to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand. There will be homemade and store-bought items available to purchase. All items will be $1, $2, or $3. We also will have a few allergy friendly items! If there are any items left after the morning sale, we will sell them during the lunch hours.

A Piece of the PIE

  • Facebook Page: You can always stay up to date with the latest PIE information by following the PIE Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bfrspie

  • Our Box Top program continues to do well and make money for our schools. See the attached flyer for how to get involved if you are not already.
  • Our 3rd Annual Family, Food, and Food Trucks is this coming week! We continue to look for donations which can be dropped off at the school or sent through our Venmo @BFRS-PIE or found on the QR code on the flyer below. Your donations are what makes this event so big and so special. We use the money to build wonderful raffle baskets and to purchase supplies to make the event a hit!! We have also opened up opportunities to help with our bake sale and to staff the event. This event is not possible without our wonderful BF/RS volunteer community!! So much goes into this huge event, please consider volunteering 😊

In Need of Snacks

Our Health Room and Mrs. Baker's office are running out of snacks for students that may not be able to bring snacks to school. If you have any extra single serving snacks you would be willing to donate (popcorn, pretzels, granola bars, goldfish, etc.), it would be appreciated!

Riverside will be celebrating World Cultural Day on Tuesday, May 21st! It's a wonderful opportunity to embrace the rich diversity of our world and learn about different cultures. On this day, students will have a chance to share the unique stories and traditions that make their heritage special. Students can dress in traditional clothing that represents their cultural identity. We would also like to invite students who speak another language, to teach others how to say a few words in their language. We look forward to learning about the different cultures students represent in our school and around the world!
