Reminders

Good afternoon Riverside Families,

We hope you had a great weekend! What a great week we had at Riverside! Thank you to all the enthusiasm around our Penny Wars as we worked to collect coins for scholarships for high school seniors who attended Riverside. We are awaiting final results, but the early total would be put us over $3500 which is a new all time record for us! THANK YOU!

We saw many families at conferences last week and then at our 5th Grade DARE Graduation on Friday! Congratulations to our 5th graders and thank you for supporting our students both at that and at conferences. Report cards will be e-mailed home this week Tuesday so please watch for those.

Friday will be a Riverside Rockets Wear or Falls Gear Spirit day. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to me.

Respectfully,

Scott Walter

Learning Journals Coming Home

All Riverside classrooms sent home students' learning journals last week if they already didn't make it home during conferences. Students all have learning journals that they add to throughout the year to keep track of their progress on grade level learning targets and personal goals. We will be sending them home a few times this year school-wide in order to keep communicating with families about progress and keep the conversations going. Please see the attached documents for more information and also some discussion prompts that you can use with your child as you look it over with him/her and send back this coming week. Thank you!

Headphones Needed

Sometimes at this point in the year, headphones begin to break down :( With state testing coming up at the end of March, please check with your child if he or she still has working headphones as they can use them on the test. Thank you!

If Picking Up Early...

Please arrive 5 minutes earlier than you need to as students will be called to the office when you arrive. We do not have students wait in the office before you arrive as sometimes parents run behind and then students miss class time. Thanks for your cooperation!

Want to help?

There are many opportunities to help out at school. Whether helping in the classroom, at PTO events or chaperoning a field trip, we'd love your help.

To ensure that all adults who come in contact with your children are safe to do so, we run background checks on all volunteers. You can apply today to be a volunteer at the link below. Please note that it does take 48-96 hours for the process, so if you want to volunteer, apply early.
