International site risk assessment toolkit available
|
The risk management international risk team has made available a toolkit for faculty and staff who are conducting site visits as part of program development. The modular tool helps guide users through recording observations while on a site visit to document potential risks and think through possible controls. If you'll be traveling to conduct a site visit as part of program development, request a copy of the toolkit before your trip.

Insurance reminders
Inland Marine policy
Iowa State is self-insured for liability, but the self-insurance does not cover repairs or replacement costs for equipment that has been stolen, damaged, or vandalized. If your department owns or leases property or equipment that could be moved, used, or stored at different locations, you may want to consider purchasing insurance under our Inland Marine policy. Some examples of insurable equipment and property include but are not limited to:
- Fine art and collectibles
- Tractors
- ATVs
- Contents within a mobile trailer
- Generators
- Medical diagnostic equipment
- Landscaping, construction, farm equipment
- Camera equipment
- Solar panels and wind turbines
Electronic Data Program (EDP) policy renews July 1
Departments and laboratories have the option to purchase EDP coverage to insure a wide range of items, including:
- Research equipment
- Computer equipment
- Audiovisual equipment
- Conference room/telecommunications equipment
The policy will cover the replacement cost of equipment for a variety of losses, including but not limited to theft, fire, water, and accidental damage. Contact Kellie Smith to find out if your equipment qualifies for coverage and to enroll.
