Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
Romans 8:37 Amplified Bible Classic
On this 4th of July, America's declared Independence Day, there are celebrations across our nation - barbeques, picnics, and other types of get-togethers. There are firework displays, grand and small - from those accompanied by bands and orchestras, to the handheld sparklers. There is the noise of firecrackers, little poppers, and bone-rattling
(and illegal) larger portions of dynamite ignited in neighborhoods.
Amidst all the celebrating, great debate and injustices are still occurring. No, life in this wonderful country of ours is not perfect; but it is where the Lord has us to make a difference. We are to follow the laws of the land as long as they do not cause us to sin against God; and for those we seek Him on how to exact His remedy there.
Just as with our country, the Christian life has its challenges, the great and the lesser; but we are equipped and prepared by God Himself to overcome them.
We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus our Lord, Savior and Deliverer. We are Independent in Christ's sufficiency - the I AM of God made available and accessible to us, His own.
We are Independent of:
~ The whims of the devil to "make us do it" - we can successfully
refrain
~ The affect of the systems of the world working to prevent us from
fulfilling our God-given purpose
~ Demonic restrictions set to cause us - by way of confusion, discord,
frustration - to return to satan's authority and control
~ The inability to forgive and release the offense and the offender;
casting off the tormenting bondage of unforgiveness
Our Independence in God cannot be taken away, for it is set for us by the shed blood of Jesus Christ; immediately activated at Salvation - accepting and confessing Him to be Lord of our life. Yes, opposition and oppression will still confront, but we are to declare our Independence in the face of darkness and attack, and maintain the momentum of the Lord; making His difference in our nation, in the world...according to His will and by His leading.
So, let's declare our Independence together:
* I am Independent in my dependence on the Lord God, my I AM.
* By the shed blood of Jesus, Son of the living God, I am
Independent of satan's control and manipulating tactics.
* I am under the authority of God Almighty.
* I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me.
Now let's set off our fireworks of PRAISE...HALLELUJAH! THANK YOU, JESUS! WE MAGNIFY YOUR NAME, LORD - WHO AND ALL YOU ARE! GLORY!
Happy Independence Day America!
Happy Independence Day my brother/sister in Jesus Christ, our Lord!
Glory to God!
Amen.
