Tired Of The View?
Experience The Ridge!

This Sunday - 10:30am

Between Two Services

Attending the early service? Stay a little later.

Attending the late service? Come a little earlier.

In response to the previous changes made by General Conference, The Ridge has decided to ask the church membership to take a vote on whether or not to stay connected to The United Methodist Church. Before we make this big decision, we want to make sure we are sharing as much information as possible. You may remember that we have narrowed our focus to these three points: 1. Faith. 2. Framework. 3. Finances. You will have a chance to hear from The Ridge Discernment Team THIS Sunday morning (6/2) at 10:30am. They will explain why each point is important. For those who attend the early service, please plan to stay a bit later to attend the meeting. For those who attend the late service, please plan to join us a bit early for this special gathering.

Please make every effort to attend next Sunday's (6/2) meeting.

I've also included a schedule of events (so far) listed below.

Please be in prayer for your Ridge family as we follow God's will.

El Emunah - The Faithful God

Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

- Psalm 36:5, NIV

We like to think we’re faithful people. We get to work on time (well, usually) and do our job with diligence. We make time for family and friends. We’re involved in our church and sign up for committees and volunteer opportunities. But no matter how hard we try to be faithful, we’re not perfect. Inevitably, we’re going to miss a meeting or skip a child’s soccer game or forget about that volunteer assignment.

Because we can’t always be faithful people, it’s reassuring to know that we serve a faithful God. His name El Emunah means “the faithful God,” and He can always be counted on to show up, roll up His sleeves and get to work in our lives.

Always keeps His promises? Check. Always hears our prayers? Check. Always remains with us? Check.

Things happen in our lives that keep us from being totally faithful to others. Because we’re human, we’re tempted to make choices based on our own self-preservation, selfishness and greed. Quite simply, we can’t be perfect all the time. But when we don’t show up, God does. And He gently guides us back to the work He has especially for us to do—the work of being faithful and showing up for others. When we turn to His perfection in our times of imperfection, His faithfulness transforms us.

Souled Out Summer is a Christian conference for middle and high school students. It is held at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat on the west end of Panama City Beach, Florida, and it focuses on students’ relationship with Christ. Morning and evening worship and speakers set the tone for each day. The conference is discipleship oriented, and each student will participate in a D-Group (disciple group) made up of students of their grade and gender. Each D-group is led by college-age Discipleship Leaders (D-Leaders) whose focus is on helping students open up and grow closer to Christ. Lots of free time is scheduled into each afternoon for individual activities, swimming at the pools or beach, playing in the basketball/Ultimate Frisbee/volleyball, etc. tournaments, competing in the strong man/woman contest, or just hanging out and relaxing. Souled Out is the perfect setting for students to open up and be real with God and with each other.

This year’s Souled Out theme is “Burning Fire,” based on Jeremiah 20:9. God gives us His Word to work within us and to share it with others.

Worship will be led by Jonathan and Lisa and their band, MOORE, with guests Mike Marshall and Mallory Lang.

This year’s evening speaker is Jordan Easley, and this year's morning speaker is Christian comedian and evangelist Lee McBride.

Special deferred deposit option available this year. Scholarships are available upon request to all Ridge Students.

Camp 4:12 is on for June 23-27!

Camp is almost full for girls and boys!

Camp 4:12 is an amazing week of fun, encouragement, and faith development for kids entering 2nd through 6th grades. Each year The Ridge partners with Pierce Chapel and St. Mark to host this overnight camp that runs from Sunday afternoon through Thursday afternoon at Pine Eden Christian Retreat Center in Hamilton, GA. Campers will experience worship and teaching, lots of swimming and recreation, crafts, chill time, great food, and their choice of two daily electives like canoeing, theater, sports, games, book club, wilderness survival and lots more! Cabins are organized by age and gender with around 12 campers each and are led by a team of one adult counselor and 2 or 3 high school counselors. Scholarships are available through The Ridge for Ridge families. Learn more and register by following the link below. Contact Nathan at nathan@theridgecolumbus.com for scholarship information or any questions about camp.

We need volunteers including parents, grandparents, high school students and middle school students who want to make camp amazing for our RidgeRunners! Many roles do not involve staying overnight. Youth and children's ministry staff from each of the three churches are on site all week, but we need a great team of volunteers to make camp a success. Please contact Nathan if you are interested in helping in one of the following areas: cabin counselor, kitchen helper, lifeguard, elective leader, setup/cleanup, music team, or crafts.ed." A

College Ministry

Summit College Ministry is intended to connect and support our college-age young adults as well as to provide a bridge between their involvement in on-campus ministries and The Ridge. With that in mind, studies and activities are scheduled during school breaks.

High school graduates ages 18 through 25 are invited to Summit events. Sam Lord is our college ministry coordinator under the direction of Nathan and Autumn Carr.

Questions: Contact Sam Lord at sam@theridgecolumbus.com, 706-617-4051.

Now that we've moved into the new building, we're asking everyone to "work one, worship one." We'd love to have you join one of our amazing Sunday Monthly Ministry Teams.

M

But I can promise you this. If you had faith no larger than a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there. And it would. Everything would be possible for you. - Matthew 17:20, CEV

1. Think big.

Two things get in the way: *Fear. *Failure.

God can do anything, you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. - Ephesians 3:20, MSG

2. Start small.

How to plant a seed: *Listen. *Pray.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. – Philippians 4:6, NLT

Rose Hill Ministry

Our team meets on the second Tuesday of each month to serve the less fortunate in the Rose Hill area. It is a great opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Parent and Student GroupMe

We have a student and a parent GroupMe account to help keep everyone up to date on what's going on in student ministry. GroupMe is a group texting app that's a great forum for staying connected and asking questions. It can be muted, so you won't get notifications constantly. If you or your student would like to be added, just text or email Nathan at 706-464-7548 and nathan@theridgecolumbus.com.

Summer Theme: Ultimate Challenge

June Focus: Faith

Hey Parents!

This June in Elementary RidgeRunners, we're learning how to have faith and how God grows our faith in him. We'll also be playing lots of fun games between our Red and Blue teams each week. Kids will win extra points for their team and bonus prizes by inviting friends!

Our Li'l RidgeRunners theme is "Faith - Trusting and Following Jesus on our good days and bad days" We'll be learning about the life of Joseph and how God used even Joseph's misfortunes to put him in the right place to fulfill God's plans.

Children's Rooms

Check-in for all ages will be at the kiosks just inside the RidgeRunners entrance doors.

Elementary RidgeRunners (K-5th) enter to the right of the check-in area. Li'l RidgeRunners (Infant-Pre-K5) head down the hallway past the Elementary room to the left. Toddlers are straight ahead. Take a right turn for Pre-K and a left turn for Infants. Infants and Toddlers will share the Toddler Room for the 9:30 service.

How check-in works:

  1. Accept your invite and sign up for Realm Connect. (If you have not received an invite to Realm, please email clay@theridgecolumbus.com and request to be added.)
  2. Request to join the appropriate groups for your kids within the Connect app (ex. 2nd grade, toddlers, etc.).
  3. Sign in via the app on your way to church on Sunday, and use the QR code to print your name tags when you arrive.
  4. Alternately, sign in and print name tags at one of several laptop or tablet kiosks when you arrive. You will see the RidgeRunners logo on the doors to the check-in station.
  5. Escort your kids to their rooms by following the signage and moving through the children's area hallways in a counter-clockwise direction.
  6. Pick up kids after the service by entering and exiting the hallways in the same counter-clockwise fashion. When picking up kids from the Elementary RidgeRunners room, please proceed all the way into the room from the check-in area and exit through either the door to the back hallway or through the doors to the parking lot. Please avoid heading back through the check-in area so that we can avoid over-crowding in the front hallway.
