Rice County has allocated $50,000 for funding small business grants to assist locally-owned businesses operating in Rice County with the costs of business interruption caused by required closures, voluntary closures to promote social distancing measures or those small businesses that are affected by decreased customer demand as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency. The grants will be made available on a first come, first serves basis and will be available to Rice County businesses with less than 50 employees. The individual grant amounts will be up to $3,000 and can be used to stabilize and maintain business, for uses such as technology updates. The grant application period will be open for 60 days, or until funds are exhausted.
