From basement to main entrance.
This is our vision for the 100-year-old steeple bell from the previous St. John.
Can you imagine hearing it ring for weddings, funerals and special occasions?
The Council and the Anniversary Committee hope we can make it happen as our fundraising goal this year for the 100 Year Anniversary of the present church building. We hope to display the bell somewhere in the church so you can see it for yourself. There may have to be some discussion on the best place to permanently display it, but let’s work on raising some money for the restoration first.
There will be a craft fair, silent auction and brunch, but we will try to come up with some creative ways to inspire your help with funding the restoration. Would you like to be the first person to ring it? Maybe we can make that happen.
There is a plan to use the old choir robes (some of which are probably 50 years old) to make things like a shopping bag, purse or maybe something you come up with as a suggestion. Would you like some of your child’s artwork displayed on a bag or even a tumbler? I believe I can make that happen.
There will be a meeting of anyone interested in the anniversary, suggestions for fundraising or ideas for the brunch, craft fair or entertainment on that celebration day, October 27th. Let your imagination soar and come meet with us on Sunday, June 23rd after church and help us make this anniversary a success.
