This person is responsible for facilitating K-12 faith formation in collaboration with the Board of Parish Education, the Youth & Family Ministry Board, and other volunteers. Coffee & a treat are served in the Parish Hall or outside each Sunday! If you would like to volunteer to bring the treats let Toni know in the office.

What you choose to bring for a treat is entirely up to you! Quantity: Three dozen treats

Coffee & napkins are provided by St. John.

Altar Flower & Radio Sign-up 2024: If you would like to sign up to sponsor the Altar flowers &/or the radio broadcast contact Toni in the office at 641-228-3397. We will continue to have flowers as they are on the online service & the radio broadcast reaches many of our at home congregation!

As precautionary steps for safety and security, we would like to ask all attendees and visitors of St John, to make sure you are locking your vehicles anytime you are inside the church.

Blessing Box

Donations are very much needed for the Blessing Box! We are running low.

Items should be weather appropriate, nonperishable food and personal items. You can put your items in the Blessing Box outside the East door or bring to the office.

You can also donate money or use some of the money on hand and go shopping. This is also an important service! We need shoppers!

St John has a fund to help people for emergencies or short-term help. Vouchers for gas or food are given to those in need. Money for this fund comes from members of the congregation. Volunteers are available on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 to help people in need. If the need is ongoing, they refer them to an agency where they can receive longer-term help.

Compassion Fund is a ministry to the community. If you would like to volunteer to help with this St. John ministry, call the office and leave your name with Toni.

Bike riding on the trail, fishing, kayak and canoe float, wild edible bike, Dutch oven cooking for lunch and a demonstration of how to smoke meat. No fee. Please let office know so we can plan accordingly. Thank you.

From basement to main entrance.

This is our vision for the 100-year-old steeple bell from the previous St. John.

Can you imagine hearing it ring for weddings, funerals and special occasions?

The Council and the Anniversary Committee hope we can make it happen as our fundraising goal this year for the 100 Year Anniversary of the present church building. We hope to display the bell somewhere in the church so you can see it for yourself. There may have to be some discussion on the best place to permanently display it, but let’s work on raising some money for the restoration first. 

There will be a craft fair, silent auction and brunch, but we will try to come up with some creative ways to inspire your help with funding the restoration. Would you like to be the first person to ring it? Maybe we can make that happen.

There is a plan to use the old choir robes (some of which are probably 50 years old) to make things like a shopping bag, purse or maybe something you come up with as a suggestion. Would you like some of your child’s artwork displayed on a bag or even a tumbler? I believe I can make that happen.

There will be a meeting of anyone interested in the anniversary, suggestions for fundraising or ideas for the brunch, craft fair or entertainment on that celebration day, October 27th. Let your imagination soar and come meet with us on Sunday, June 23^rd after church and help us make this anniversary a success.

BIBLE CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS

Just a reminder that St. John offers scholarships for all our youth members attending a Christian camp. Scholarships are offered in the amounts of $25 for a one-day camp, $50 for camps lasting 2-3 days, and $150 for camps lasting 4-7 days. Just bring in a copy of your registration to the Business Office for a reimbursement.

St. John Christian Preschool would like to remind everyone that we sell Kwik Star gift cards. Please stop in the church preschool if you are interested in purchasing a gift card. The preschool receives 5% of the gift card’s face value. Please contact Whitney or Toni if you are interested.
