Very many of the cultures where Carey teaches do not encourage such independent thought and writing, and so it was decided that a course in Academic Paper Writing might be helpful. The course involved discussion of the nature and crafting of persuasive arguments; critical reading of articles, papers and books; and the crafting of an academic research paper, both in its structure and its format.
We pray that this course will have encouraged the brothers in Cuba in their writing. Perhaps God will move through these brothers to produce works that will speak directly to the time and culture in Cuba, and beyond!"
