In Memoriam: Howard Pilch '72
We are saddened to announce that Howard David Pilch, of Beverly Hills, California passed away at the age of 69 on August 30. A proud and true blue Boalt Hall (1972) and UC Berkeley (1969) alumnus, Howard waved the Cal banner throughout his distinguished 40-year career as a family law attorney in Los Angeles.
His love for UC Berkeley was apparent in all that he did, including wearing his Cal watch and proudly showing his Cal cellphone cover (as he did when he visited the Boalt Hall Alumni Center this past July). He loved to bring his children and grandchildren to visit campus and attend football games with everyone decked out in their Cal gear.
Howard's most meaningful accomplishments in life were his devotion to his family and his involvement and lifetime commitment to the Los Angeles Jewish community.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Kathe, his 99 year old mother Rose Pilch, daughter Jessica (Mark) Samuel and Rebecca (George) Greenberg, step-daughter Kimberlee Walbourne and his four grandchildren (Chason, Eleanor, Sienna and Oliver) who were his most treasured souls.
