Dear friends,

In our newsletter this month, we are happy to share several resources for our campus and our community.

Below, you'll find Campus Connection programming inviting anyone from nonprofits or the community to learn more about specific services available for them, including disaster preparedness.

Then there is information about the 2023 ALICE Report, thanks to our partners at United Way Suncoast. This report gives us the sky-level view of what it takes to maintain a sustainable quality of life in our region, one of our main objectives. It is why we have maintained a partnership with 211 since 2017, and why we must continue to connect others to get the help they need.

And just this month we are announcing an exciting new partnership with CORESRQ wherein any staff working on or from the Campus of Caring gets a free membership for the next year. This partnership is meant to benefit the most important resource any company has: its hardworking staff.

If you are a regular reader of this newsletter, my guess is that you know how important resources like these are to a greater quality of life in our region. I imagine you are doing something in your life to be a positive contributor to that vision. If you want to do more, let's talk. We have ideas.

Happy resourcing!

May GS Connects Events
There are two upcoming events in May for the Campus of Caring. First, Banyan Pediatric Care Centers will be presenting about nursing services for medically fragile or technology-dependent children on 5/16.

Next, Sarasota County Emergency Management Services is presenting about Disaster Preparedness on 5/23.

Attendance is open to all. Contact Connor Borden to register.
GlasserPassports: AARP
GlasserPassports continued this past April with Trina Steinmaker of AARP who presented information about the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). Campus staff came to learn how they can connect their clients to this resource and participate themselves. You can read more about the event in our latest blog here.
Campus Connection events are made possible through funding from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, and hospitality sponsorship from Der Dutchman.
ALICE Report shows great need for the Suncoast Region
United For ALICE, in partnership with United Way Florida, has released the 2023 ALICE Report, and findings show that a family of four with an infant and a preschooler needs an annual income of $88,000 to live beyond paycheck to paycheck.

As a partner with 211, we know that many people in our region are finding themselves in need for the first time. If you or a loved one don't know where to turn for information about getting food, work, utility or rent assistance, turn to 211.

The service is free, confidential, and available 24/7/365. Live, trained specialists will help you get connected to updated and relevant help.
CORESRQ Partners with Glasser/Schoenbaum for free memberships
We are beyond proud to announce a brand-new partnership with local health and fitness nonprofit, CORESRQ. For one year, staff working at the Campus of Caring on 17th street are eligible for a free membership to either of CORESRQ's North and South Sarasota locations.

We are inspired by their mission for a healthier community, and we hope to enable greater health and self-care for the incredible nonprofit staff who work every day to make this community better.

Here's to your health!

"Why I Give"

Board Member Ann Olsen talks about why she chooses to support The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center.

"I give to The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center because the Center is a Gift to us all. The "Not for Profit" agencies housed on the campus have more resources to serve those in need because the Center provides them very affordable office rent and interactive collaboration. These agencies address many community needs including health, affordable housing, education, and employment. I hope you can stop by and see it for yourself"
