Hunterdon County Expands Mapping Initiative To Schools, First Responders, And Critical Sites
Hunterdon County’s structure mapping program for public safety is now in place in nearly every school district, many critical sites, and is being made available to all first responder units, County Board of Commissioners Deputy Director John E. Lanza reported at a recent Board meeting.

Lanza, the Board’s liaison for Public Safety, announced, “The cloud based digital system, known as GXP mapping, makes available a grid overlay of a structure or site’s floor plan for law enforcement and first responders. The system enables those responders to better direct resources to specific areas within defined areas, particularly school buildings, during critical incidents.

Improvements For Residential Recycling At Hunterdon Transfer Station Create Safer, Cleaner Materials Drop Off
Hunterdon County residents dropping off recycling materials at the County’s Transfer Station, on Petticoat Lane in Clinton Township, will see new recycling containers at a new safer location, County Board of Commissioners Director Susan J. Soloway has announced.

Soloway said, “Moving the free residential recycling drop-off location out of the way of the large tractor trailers in use for solid waste disposal will keeps residents safe while placing plastic, glass, aluminum and cardboard materials in newly covered containers. The upgrade will help to streamline the process, make it safer for residents, and keep the area less cluttered.”

Hunterdon Continues To Meet Land Preservation Goals Despite The Pandemic
